The Watershed Wide Arundo Management (WWAM) Team is an evolving working group with members from University of California Santa Barbara, Stillwater Sciences, Santa Clara River Conservancy, City of Santa Clarita, Ventura County Resource Conservation District, Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency, and other collaborators. The WWAM Team was formed to develop a science-based strategy for reducing the negative impacts of invasive species, restoring native riparian woodlands to support protected wildlife species, and sustaining beneficial ecosystem services throughout the Santa Clara River watershed. Our immediate goal is to manage, and ultimately completely eradicate, invasive Arundo from the watershed.
The WWAM Team is under contract with the Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency, and will be seeking additional funding sources and partners, to develop the strategic framework for a watershed-wide Arundo management plan.
