
The Watershed Wide Arundo Management Program (WWAM) strives to restore the Santa Clara River watershed through eradication of Arundo and other invasive species. The program mission includes:
- Creating a framework that connects and facilitates collaboration between all stakeholders that strive to remove Arundo donax from, and assist in restoring, the Santa Clara River watershed
- Protecting, conserving, and augmenting local water-supply and increasing local water sustainability
- Protecting and improving water quality
- Protecting communities, properties, infrastructure, and the environment from natural disasters like fires and floods
- Sustaining and restoring natural ecosystem function to support native riparian and aquatic inhabitants, particularly sensitive and special status species
- Promoting convenient access to nature for the community
- Engaging with the public and educational groups regarding the biodiversity and ecological relationships associated with the Santa Clara River
- Preparing for and adapting to climate change
